Emma has been conducting specialized courses on the Valais Blacknose sheep since 2018, helping individuals gain a comprehensive understanding of all aspects of the breed. As the first person to introduce the Valais Blacknose to the UK in February 2014, Emma has dedicated considerable time to studying the breed, including extensive visits to Switzerland to learn from Swiss shepherds about the best practices for advancing the breed in the UK. Over the past 12 months, she has also collaborated with breeders in the United States and Sweden to enhance their knowledge of the breed.
As the owner of the Gemstone flock, Emma also manages the Valais Blacknose Sheep UK Facebook page.
Since 2021, Emma has been a respected judge, having had the opportunity of participating in the Swiss course on how to grade sheep. She is known for her strong support of fellow breeders and is a valuable source of knowledge, always willing to share her expertise. Emma has earned six championships in the past two years and has played a pivotal role in the development of the Valais Blacknose breed in the UK. Additionally, she serves as a committee member of the Valais Blacknose Sheep Society and is an active participant in the Society’s Show Team.
